What You Need to Know

Layering for Mountain Weather Summer temperatures can hit 80°F / 25°C in the valleys but drop to 60°F / 15°C on passes during the day, and much cooler if a storm rolls in. Layer up with synthetic fabrics, polypropylene, or wool—they wick moisture, dry fast, and provide insulation even when wet. Always pack your rain gear; mountain weather changes fast.

Footwear Tips Break in new hiking boots before your trip to prevent blisters. For the rafting portion, you must wear shoes that secure to your feet and can get entirely wet (flip-flops are not permitted).

Trekking Poles Recommended for anyone who appreciates extra knee support on descents or stability on uneven terrain. If you don't own a pair, they are often available for rent in Cortina.
