Itinerary

Cortina d’Ampezzo is home to some of the best ski touring terrain in the Alps. On this two-day backcountry tour, a UIAGM/IFMGA guide leads you from the village into the quiet of the mountains. Skins on, you’ll move through forests and open meadows toward passes like Forcella Averau or Col dei Bos. After the climb, ski down wide slopes into the valleys below. In the evening, stay in a mountain hut with a delicious dinner included. On the second day, climb again to Forcella Lagazuoi or a nearby ridge. From there, you can see the Tofane, Lagazuoi, and into Austria. The final descent returns you to the Cortina valley. The guide will select terrain based on the group's ability, offering options for easier or steeper lines. The tour includes two days of skinning and skiing, one night in a mountain hut, and full guiding. Contact us to book or check out our other winter tours.

1 night accommodation in a rifugio (shared dormitory with shared bathroom)

Rifugios, or mountain huts, are the traditional places to stay for hikers, climbers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Many are perched high in the Dolomites, often only accessible by hiking; some can be reached by cable car, and a few by car. Most are open during the summer, with a handful available in winter. These huts provide hearty meals and a place to sleep, with options ranging from simple dormitories with bunk beds to private rooms with bed linen and en-suite bathrooms. Hot showers, shared dining rooms, and each has its own unique charm. Whether hiking in summer or skiing in winter, spending a night in a rifugio is an essential part of the Dolomite experience.
